It is suggested that the website be shut down.

  • Yes, most add-on creators create add-ons to make them more realistic, making the simulation more believable and adding to the fun of the game.

However, it's precisely because of that group of Chinese players that the review and management burden on the administrators has been increased. I believe we should expand the number of administrators and reviewers to reduce the existing management burden and pressure. Furthermore, we should not allow add-ons that lack illustrations or content to be uploaded.

We should redesign and revamp the current menus and some pages. Perhaps we could add some paid and some free add-on content to differentiate them.

We could also upgrade the FS4 and Global sections to make them simpler and easier for site members to find and download. Thank you!

  • I am willing to become a member of the management team. If you need it, I think I can try to help you manage the website, such as reviewing plugins and some members, so as to further reduce your workload. Thank you.

  • I am angry for these Chinese players. They destroyed such a good website. I am also a Chinese player, so I am also very angry about this phenomenon. They use domestic mobile phones and play pirated games,A considerable number of them don't even know what Google is.After they took the plugins from this website, they never came online again. But not all Chinese players are bad people. The legitimate players in China are also angry about this group of people, but they are mostly elementary school students.

  • I am also a Chinese player, and we are also very angry about this kind of people. Most of them are just a group of elementary school students They don't even know what Google is.They play pirated games and then post them on Chinese social media platforms. Some people even teach them how to get pirated copies At this time, we, the genuine players, were very angry. This is completely unreasonable, and they probably won't see this post since they never go online after downloading the plugin. Therefore, I fully support the decision to close the website.

  • I am very sorry to hear the website is shutting down and am appreciative of all your hard work Higgy. The seemingly unending need to cheat or get something for free is not limited to Chinese people though. I like cruising and cruise vlogs and the youtube has US people on video of how to cheat and get through customs with alcohol etc.or how to doctor the water bottles in their cabin to avoid paying for them. Some folk are a waste of oxygen, but it is not limited to any nationality I think.

  • Piracy is everywhere. Not just east Asia, but even where I'm at in north America.

I created a separate youtube channel last year and only posted two fake "free aerofly download" videos to test a theory. Results?

In this account with zero history, both videos passed 15k views, with the second one peaking at around 28k in just a few months despite the amount of dislikes and negative comments (the account got mass reported and banned soon after). Commenters were American, Indian, Pakistani, Chinese, Brazilian etc.

It just shows how big piracy is in general, both in online search traffic and regions around the world.

  • You really want to know what I think about all this?

I don't want to tar everyone with the same brush, but since the addition of the MOBILE thread—yes, I said MOBILE—whether on the IPACS forum or here on Flight-Sim.org, everything has become stupid and degenerates over time, with a few exceptions.

Something we didn't experience before with FS or FS2.

    End of quote.

    Have a good day, everyone.

  • The saddest thing is that these people who disrupted the order did not realize their mistakes, and most of those who apologized below were good people.

Those shameless individuals have been continuously damaging the environment, yet they don't perceive their actions as wrong, solely because they desire these plugins. For us, this means losing opportunities to communicate with international friends

  • Personal reply to the user Jacky tim.

If found any word inappropriate, delete it at will.

After thinking for while,I realized that I still haven't thanked you properly. The posts on the forum make a lot of sense, they are thought-provoking,I completely agree with you.

When I was looking through your plugins which were uploaded to 123云盘,I checked the last modification times of those files again. You probably only slept for less than 4 hours in the early morning of July 6th, 2025. I tried to understand your feeling at that time and I tried to think about the amount of effort required to repeatedly search through the game map for days, then retrieve the files from the cache, categorize them, and compile them into a consolidated package,as well as the motivation to send these plugins to an unfamiliar stranger met on qq while having almost no rewards.

Currently I'm still trying to create plugins by my own, maybe things will get better when I buy a new laptop to replace the old one.

    Wish you a happy life.

  • I have a rather unusual proposal to keep up this excellent site:

Even as a content creator, I do not feel entitled to download stuff for free - because in uploading stuff, I also add to the cost of this site. (The cost being the server cost, as well as the potential cost of the administrator needing to check if malicious content has been uploaded.)

Obviously being able to download from this site for free in case you added any form of content is a incentive to upload just about anything - adding even more to the cost of this site.

So here's my proposal: only have users contributing in terms of money to this site download stuff. And only allow for a fair-use download quota.

(Some of my content here is only linked, so there are no big storage and traffic cost - but this makes it even more tedious to check the content of my content, as there is no guarantee that someday this content could turn malicious.)

All this said and done, I can fully understand and do fully support the idea of shutting down this service. There are lots of people out there (ask Open Source developers) who face demands and abuse for their free or charitable work.
