I have a 5gb zip file that I keep splitting up at lower sizes below 3 gb to upload (even below 1gb per zip file) and it's so slow to upload, not moving at all. Would external links be better?

I think ...when your upload in the internet is to slow ...
it doenst matter where you want to upload it ...
Its no problem to make little pieces ... 500 MB ? How long it will take to upload it ?
The other option is to upload it there ...where you have a faster connection .. ?!

Still having a hell of a time uploading even at 500MB zip size. Ran a speed test on my end and my upload speed is 40 mbps.

I need here about 15-20 minutes for 1 GB ....(rough check...not measured) for a upload

Yes, something is amiss. I will try again tomorrow. And thanks, especially for the amazing contributions to FS2. A lot of fun!

As a reference I have an upload speed of 3 Mbs and it took 35 minutes to upload a zip folder of 340 Mb scenery.

I feel bad breaking up 5gb file into so many parts. Maybe I use google drive link instead?

Why ... ?
Its a little bit more " clickwork "... but technical no problem.
10 Files with 500 MB are no problem ...
100 files with 50 MB ... are not really sexy
External downloads are often problmatic ... when the external server is down , when its deleted ... when there are any problems ... much administrating than ... So i prefer upload it there ..where you download it...
PS:
I had also http://www.rc-sim.de since 20 years ... and there .... I let people upload on some different external path ... and now there are many many broken Downloads ... and I am dont want to fix it any more year after year ...so i give it up to fix this

😂 I tried again, 6 zip flies at approx 1 gb per file. I tried to upload one direct and it was over 30 mins and did not even reach 15% upload. I ran into same issue with 500mb files. It will take all day to upload two tiles at that rate. I think I'm going to use google drive. Would that be ok? It's very fast.

Now i read your PM ...
you try to upload many files at the same time with a "manager-tool" ? right ?
Please try with hand in firefox browser ..only ONE FILE at a time ...
When that is ok ...click SAFE after the upload ... and finish this...
after this...edit your download article here ..and add / upload the next file....
